The /now Page Movement

100 Days to Offload Challenge
This article is one of a series of posts in the 100 Days to Offload challenge. The challenge focuses on writing frequency, not necessarily long-form, technical masterpieces. These posts are simply a way to offload thoughts.

Recently, I stumbled across the /now page movement, which was started back in late October 2015 by Derek Sivers. According to Sivers, he started his /now page simply because people often asked him what he is doing at this moment.

Each time I would type out a reply, describing where I’m at, what I’m focused on, and what I’m not.

Right there and then, the value of this was immediately obvious. It is to show where my time and priorities lie. And as a side benefit, I can easily point them to the /now page whenever I have people asking what I have been up to, or even which part of the world am I in right now.

So, over the next few days, I’ll be spending my time tinkering my /now page into being. And it will be updated as needed for people to know what I am up to, but mostly to keep my time and priorities in check.
